Helena Burns, FSP

Film critic at LifeTeen and The Catholic Channel on Sirius XM, as well as on her site Hell Burns, Sister Helena Burns is a member of the Daughters of St. Paul, an international congregation that focuses on media and runs the Pauline Center for Media Studies, in Los Angeles.
Sister Helena studied screenwriting at UCLA and Act One, Hollywood, while her master’s is in media literacy education. She earned her bachelor’s in theology and philosophy from St. John's University. Having completed an additional certification in pastoral youth ministry, Sr. Helena continues her studies at the Theology of the Body Institute, near Philadelphia.
She wrote and directed Media Apostle: The Father James Alberione Story, a documentary on the life of Blessed James Alberione, and is a co-producer on www.The40film.com, a documentary exploring the forty years since Roe v Wade. She authored He Speaks to You, a book for young women.
Sister Helena’s lectures on media literacy and theology, tailored for adults or for teens, are hosted all over North America. Often she represents the Catholic Speakers Organization, or CatholicSpeakers.com. She resides in Toronto.
