His latest book, Escape Artist: The Nine Lives of Harry Perry Robinson, is published by Oxford University Press.
A Connecticut Yankee with a doctorate from Oxford, he has held a variety of interesting jobs, including college professor, administrator of the Hawthornden Castle Literary Institute in Scotland, corporate public relations head, and director of communications for the Diocese of Bridgeport.
He joined Catholic Film Critics as a charter member and lives in Stamford, Conn.
