Michael Augsberger is the founder of the ICFCA and one of its charter film critics. He writes at Catholicfilmcritics.com, his site Augsberger Films, and The Pew Review, where he serves as editor-in-chief. He often focuses on the Academy Awards.

He also writes about sport. Notre Dame Magazine honored Augsberger with its 2015 essay award for his piece "Home Marathon." Salesianum School of Wilmington, Del., appointed him to write the history of its greatest sporting moments. His two-story mural is the centerpiece of its new athletic center.

Augsberger's filmmaking work includes directing and scoring the documentary short Father Chris's Candles, which follows an immigrant community during federal raids. In front of the camera, he spent three years as lead commentator for West Chester University hockey and called play-by-play for many University of Notre Dame teams at UND.com.

He has also spent a decade in finance, first as director of annual giving at Salesianum, and at JPMorgan Chase as well. In addition to covering sport, Augsberger has led an NCAA tennis program as head coach.

Having grown up around Philadelphia, he studied film, journalism, and Latin at the University of Notre Dame. He writes from Philadelphia, Frankfurt, and Zürich, each near his family.
